Contaminated Land and Water Analysis Seminar - 13 October 2010, Slough
Aimed at new graduates and starters or as a refresher course for more experienced staff, the seminars will cover:
Sampling Protocols - with emphasis on ensuring the integrity of samples
Sample Preparation - a basic overview of inorganic testing
Quality Issues - AQ/QC detection limits, PT scheme data, Quality organisations and uncertainty
An Overview of Organic Analysis - basic methods and terminology
Volatile Organics -comparison of methods
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons - definition, composition, methods of analysis, interpretation
PAHs - Definition, composition, methods of analysis
Semi Volatile Organics - an overview of pesticides, PCBs, phenols and others
Recent Legislation MCERTS, CLEA, WAC, EU directives etc.
The seminars run from 10.00 - 4.00 pm and include a buffet lunch and laboratory tour.
