Oil Analysis - The Technical Bit

Engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic oils, compressor oils, transformer oils, turbine oil - the list of applications where oil analysis can be of a benefit is almost endless.

In order to get the most from your oil and machine we have devised a comprehensive range of analytical test packages that are designed around the type and function of the oil.

Oil Analysis is key to any Condition Based Maintenance program.

For example, our engine oil test suite is very different from our turbine oil test suite, each test suite is deisgned to meet the needs of the machine and end user, and when needed we can carry out extra analysis in order to meet your needs.

Perhaps the most important and central test for in service oil is the analysis of wear metals, contaminants, and additive elements using ICP-OES (Inductively Couple Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry).

The detection of wear metals provides the insight into both how the engine is performing and also gives an indication of the additive levels within the oil itself.
